Making Dreams Come True
Wife, mother, grandmother, lawyer, community leader, inveterate traveler and now author. I planned our stay in a Tuscan villa primarily because I wanted to live in one small community in Italy, be it only for three short weeks. Typically, my travel has been intense, as I never wanted to miss one church, temple, museum, performance, or restaurant. This would be new and different. My dream was to live in a foreign country, and I did. Our town, Castellina in Chianti, had a population of less than 3,000 and I made an effort to meet as many as I could. I fell in love with this beautiful place and its wonderful people. My dream came true.
My secondary goal was to bring our large family together. Unlike a family reunion where the horde arrives en masse and then departs all at once, our guests came and went in little waves allowing us plenty of time to actually relax and enjoy each other. Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and the Tuscan hill towns were all magnificent but the best part of our time there was just hanging around our charming old villa and our special town.
I had not planned on writing a book about our experience, but upon return to California, I was compelled to share this special adventure with others. “Meet Us in Tuscany” is the result. I hope many will read this book and perhaps want to replicate our wonderful experience, whether in Italy or elsewhere in Europe, Asia, South America or closer to home. You will not be sorry!
